About 15 Needles

15 Needles is a woman-owned small business based near Sarasota, Florida.

The founder of 15 Needles learned the joy of sewing as a child. After graduating from NC State, College of Textiles, she spent a diverse career working for and with fiber producers, yarn spinners, and fabric makers in the US and internationally, eventually becoming a federal lobbyist for a US textile company.

The inspiration for 15 Needles products springs from the joy of making them and the encouragement of friends and family to make more. The art and design of each draws on a combination of ‘stock’ designs and digitized customization, so that they are both current and relevant to the market, but also unique to 15 Needles.

Caring for Your 15 Needles Textile

Our products are meant to be used, so they are durable to laundering. The embroidery threads themselves are synthetic, made to withstand the commercial embroidery process, so they should not be directly pressed with a hot iron. A press cloth between the iron and the embroidery will keep the design looking neat.

The 100% cotton blank towels shown in our portfolio are bought from US suppliers, but they are made in India and include a label of origin and care. Washing in cool water, using a color safe stain remover around the embroidered threads, drying on low heat, and a light pressing will make these products look their best.

Depending on how much they are ‘loved’ by use, our embroidered textiles can last for years.
